MESGO
The Lennart Johansson Scholarship aims to support the development of talented individuals showing potential to play a leadership role in football, broaden the diversity of UEFA’s education programme participants and promote democratic values.
The aim of the Lennart Johansson scholarships is to support the development of talented leaders in European football and individuals showing potential to play a leadership role in football in the future. UEFA’s education programmes are designed to foster their personal development by equipping them with knowledge and tools that, in the long term, will aid the sustainable development of European football. The Lennart Johansson scholarships also aims to broaden the diversity of UEFA’s education programme participants, notably in terms of gender, origin, cultural background and area of expertise. Finally, the Lennart Johansson scholarships aims to promote democratic values within the leadership of football.
To apply for a scholarship, candidates must have applied for a place on the MESGO or the UEFA MIP and meet the relevant admission criteria.
The admission criteria for the MESGO are:
A. minimum of five years’ experience in a relevant field and at managerial level
B. bachelor’s degree
C. good command of English, both written and spoken
D. the MESGO scientific committee can grant exceptions to these criteria
For the MESGO, only candidates from sports organisations connected to football (national associations, clubs, leagues, player unions or any other UEFA stakeholders) may apply for scholarships.
